Farms to sprout hundreds of new homes

MANATEE COUNTY -- With 106 homes here, and 124 units there, the former farms of Manatee County are sprouting small crops of suburbia.

Two more housing projects could begin construction next year, one a single-family development in Parrish and the other a town house complex in Palmetto.
